I largely work from photographs using someone I know as a model. I really enjoy getting lost in the process of making the photographs, and feel it is very much a playful, collaboration with the model. The hat was an impromptu creation, made by stapling miniature playing cards to some rolled up card.

Harlequin
I recently finished this piece. It has a vintage circus theme and was partly inspired by the harlequins depicted in Picasso's 'Rose Period'. I love the romance and exquisite contrasting colours of these paintings.

Poster for Michael J Dolan's Edinburgh Show 'Nothing Will Ever Be Alright Again Ever'
I was asked by my good friend Michael J Dolan to produce a portrait for his Edinburgh show. The medium is coloured pencil on paper. The show is currently receiving very favourable four star reviews, and while it isn't for everyone, if you are in Edinburgh and like quick wit and a black heart you should go and see it, you'll be in for a treat.
